about
Gucci Doom, the lead single, is a dreamy alternative pop anthem with autobiographical lyrics written by lead singer Dahlia Knowles. She brought the song to her band with the idea of crafting fashion music, with legible, confronting vocals, paired with an expansion of their signature atmospheric dreampop sound. Gucci Doom was the first song produced for the record, and became number one on the track list due to its impact on the rest of the album’s feel. The full record is scheduled to release on Idol Records on July 7th, 2023.
lyrics
my body is a museum
who i am and who i’ve been
let me give it to you
(let me give it to you)
all the nights i’ve spent inside
let me give it to you
cigarettes and gucci bloom
(let me give it to you)
bodies are bibles and blessed and broken and dark blue
people are people and blessed and broken and dark blue
well i’ll write a letter to all the saints you think you are
and i won’t hesitate to burn it down
yeah i’ll write a letter to all the saints you think you are
and i won’t hesitate to burn it down
singing hallelujah
singing hallelujah
my body is a staircase
footfalls in the middle place
cigarettes and gucci bloom
(let me give it to you)
pull my hair, hands on my neck
while we’ve still got the time
let me give it to you
(let me give it to you)
well i’ll write a letter to all the saints you think you are
and i won’t hesitate to burn it down
yeah i’ll write a letter to all the saints you think you are
and i won’t hesitate to burn it down
