about
Aztec Milk Temple’s debut single, “Digital Natives” explores the oscillating complexities of life in America in 2020. A multitude of kitsch, grave, pastiche, ancient, and instanter, jibe together to create a new code far too elusory for the outworn single servings of irony, sincerity and idealism of the past.
Aztec Milk Temple is a Texas, based band featuring Scott Tucker, Vincent Martin, and Braxton Fugate. Debuting to a sold-out crowd in Dallas, Texas in the Winter of 2019, this young band quickly became known in Texas independent music circles for their artful songwriting and captivating live performances. Throughout 2019 the band toured refining live performances, and writing new material, before eventually catching the attention of Grammy-nominated producer, Chris “Frenchie” Smith. (The Darkness, Dandy Warhols, Slayer)
lyrics
Let computers raise the kids
Buy yourself a Mercedes Benz
Get yourself your own TV show
But please make sure that your neighbors know
This is the future
This is the future
We are the empty
While others are butchered
This is the future
Trust your computer
I can’t, I won’t, no I don’t
I don’t want to be a slave to the here, the new, or the now
I just want to drift away and keep my head above the clouds
This is the future, this is the future
New religion creates hypocrites
Angry people with Botox lips
Politicians are an empty joke
They feed us lies, they sell us hope and dope
This is the future
This is the future
We are the empty
While others are butchered
This is the future
Trust your computer
I can’t, I won’t, no I don’t
I don’t want to be a slave to the here, the new, or the now
I just want to drift away and keep my head above the clouds
We are the slaves of a criminal age
We fell away, don’t you know?
Here’s to the future
Well I can’t, I won’t, no I don’t
I don’t want to be a slave to the here, the new, or the now
I just want to run away and keep my head above the clouds
I don’t want to be a slave to the here, the new, or the now
I just want to drift away and keep my head above the clouds
